Quotnot a valid origin for the client9/20/2023 ![]() I decided to post here in the forums because someone else may ask about First Class flats that do not get a final "out for delivery" and "delivered" report ~ even though the items have been delivered.įrom my perspective, tracking on First Class letters and flats is extremely helpful and an important tool in shipping low cost items. On the other hand, on one shipment I reviewed, a tray was scanned 10-20 times at the same location ~ no doubt as a part of their heavy holiday traffic.įor myself, I am going to monitor the matter. It absolutely improves tracking and confidence greatly, but is not at 100%, so to speak. It is clear that the tracking protocol for USPS First Class letters and flats has its limits. I probably ought to have waited a day and thought things through before sending correspondence to buyers from weeks and months ago. ![]() Once one "sees what can happen", it is possible to develop a strategy. It is a quirk that I was looking on the shipments page in Etsy. The tracking number provided cannot be used on the USPS tracking website directly (as far as I can tell), but the information shown in Etsy is drawn from the USPS system.įor myself, since everything has been going smoothly for months, I have not had the occasion to review every delivery. Yes, with the Etsy Shipping Labels for First Class letters and flats, buyers can see the tracking information for their shipments. I have not looked yet to see if it will let me spend another $1.00 to get an entirely new label. I can see the option to go into Shipping Labels for the order in question. There are several ways it can be marginal. Otherwise, this is important for everyone who uses the First Class Flats tracking via Etsy Shipping Labels. Lost items have been extremely rare ~ people who did not provide the correct address. I will continue to monitor future First Class Flats that I send out, but be less reactive / frantic. It was a moment of "something went wrong that I don't understand customer service, customer service, customer service." :) The second person who I directly asked "did you get your items", responded with "yes, thank you." The third person is from October and has made no complaint though I still wrote that person as well. Fortunately, these are items I am able to replace. I cannot verify that and they did not notify me of not having received the item on their own. I spotted 3 of my shipments listed as "in transit." The most recent person said they had not received their item. Has anyone else encountered this? One of the quirky things about this is that I do not think I can generate another Etsy Shipping Label for these 3 orders if I want to send them replacement merchandise. ![]() It is one thing to have something delayed, but for it not to show up and simply get lost in the USPS sorting queue is not good. (It makes me wonder if any of my other shipments were lost, before I started using this Etsy Shipping Label / Tracking option for USPS First Class mail.) Now I am seeing 3 that are stuck "in transit", one of which was shipped in October to Hawaii. I have used this perhaps 10 times now with $1.00 or $1.15 in postage ala Pitney Bowes, and so on. It is something I mailed as a """First Class Flat""" using Etsy shipping labels (which includes the new tracking). I was just reviewing my December orders and stumbled upon an order that has been stuck "in transit" since. The unpleasant has happened very unpleasant.
